4Hrs Sleep! Surveys Out!

This work trip has me absolutely exhausted. We have a GREAT team, but getting an average of 4hrs sleep per night is nuts. Early mornings, late nights, and lots to do.

But, that's not your problem. Yours is simply to fill out your surveys! Go get'em!!

If you have any issues with any of the survey, please email me at [email protected] before you complete it. We had no issues with the Smoke Test surveys, so fingers-crossed all is well everywhere!

I'll drop a Weekend Update like usual on Friday or Saturday -- depending on if this snow storm doesn't impact my travel...

Weekend Update! 2023/03/04

The book is completely assembled and the collection is being edited now!! WOOO!!

I had an issue with Backerkit’s Pre-order Store that I’ll fix tonight, and I’ll finalize the surveys with the intention of launching a smoke test tomorrow. If all goes well I should be able to launch the rest of the surveys no later than Tuesday!

Digital rewards will go out as surveys are completed.

I’m off to celebrate my wife’s birthday with a dinner (and then some rest—my gift to her was 3x Japanese cherry blossoms, 3x tea plants, and 2x Celeste fig trees, plus my labor in planting them all 😂)

I’m SORE EVERYWHERE!!

Funds Are Released! Book Assembly Update!

Happy Tuesday!

I hope this finds you super-swell, gang! Here's your super-brief update on this campaign:

• Funds have finally been released! Wo0t!

• Book plates have been designed; will order tonight after work

• Bonus pages mostly completed (cover gallery, character designs, Easter eggs) — director’s commentary still being finalized*

• Covers designed & completed (spine designed but depends on final page count)

• Prints finished; will order with books

• Pizza boxes finished -- and they have arrived!! Check 'em out!

*I apologize that this is taking me so long, but I went back and decided to redesign these pages completely. I have to travel to Chicago for work next week, so my hope is to complete everything this week and release your digital rewards over the weekend. I'll update you again on Friday!

PS -- if you did not order pizza boxes and your physical reward tier doesn't get the box as a Stretch Goal, you will still be able to order one from the Backerkit Survey via Add-ons. Hoping to release surveys this week!

Just a quick update!

• Funds have not been released to the creative team, yet. Likely due to our late campaign close (2100 GMT-5).

• Book plates have been designed.

• Bonus pages mostly completed (cover gallery, character designs, Easter eggs) — director’s commentary still being finalized

• Covers designed & completed

• Prints finished

• Pizza boxes finished

I have decided that ALL printed book backers will receive a one-of-a-kind Japanese hanko stamp on the Introduction page written by me. This is a unique identifier that you purchased this book as a part of our crowdfunding efforts. This stamp will also be featured on any bookplate orders for this campaign only.

The hanko stamp will not be available anywhere else, nor will the bookplates.
